About Rail.Yaar
Rail.Yaar is an independent, free-to-use bilingual (English & Hindi) utility built to help Indian Railways passengers accurately calculate 60-day Advance Reservation Period (ARP) and Tatkal ticket booking opening dates, including Day 2 and Day 3 mid-route boarding offsets.
Why We Built Rail.Yaar
When Indian Railways revised the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) from 120 days to 60 days (excluding the date of journey at the train's originating station), many travellers—especially those boarding long-distance trains on Day 2 or Day 3—miscalculated their booking opening date by 1 to 2 days.
Rail.Yaar solves this by combining station-by-station running day data with the official 60-day ARP and 1-day Tatkal rules, providing instant Google Calendar, .ICS, and email reminder alerts.
How Train Data & Calculations Are Sourced
Our built-in train routes and stoppages are verified against publicly available Indian Railways timetables, with on-demand lookups supported via the RailRadar API. All booking date calculations run deterministically using official Indian Railways day-count rules.
